Sediment Nourishment

"Sediment nourishment" or "sand nourishment” is the process of adding sediment (primarily composed of sand and small rocks) to an eroding beach to counteract erosion.  They are essentially the same concept, but ”sediment nourishment" is a more general term encompassing any type of sediment that might be added, while "sand nourishment" specifically refers to adding sand particles as the primary material used to replenish the beach.
